Healing vs. Well-Being–Is There a Difference?

When we think about it, we all want the best health we can possibly experience.  We want strong, vibrant health.  We want to enjoy a long life full of vitality and agility for as long as possible.  But we see people aging or we have health issues of our own.

Does it really matter if we think about wanting healing or well-being?  Aren’t they basically the same thing, vibrationally?

Actually, healing and well-being are from two different perspectives. As such, they are two different vibrational offerings. Healing is acknowledging something is wrong in our body and seeking well-being is acknowledging the things that are going right in our body.

Healing is from the perspective that there is something wrong with us.  Either we did something wrong and caused this problem or we think someone did something to us that caused this health issue in our body.  Maybe we were exposed to disease or a company produced some chemical that was toxic enough to harm our body when we used the product.

At any rate, healing is from the perspective that something is wrong.  And, we want to fix it, NOW!  Whether we choose to see a doctor or use some form of natural healing process, we want to fix what’s broken. It is a problem-focused perspective. There may be some complaining attached to this perspective. Any amount of complaining brings resistance to what you want. This perspective would create a lower vibrational quality.

When we are asking for well-being, it is acknowledging it is our birthright to be well, to live well, to enjoy optimal well-being. If you are focusing on your well-being, you tend to be focusing on what’s going right. How good you feel. How wonderfully your body is functioning. You are appreciating the fact that your body operates seamlessly without your full focus for so many functions. Your attention is not required to digest your food, to breathe, to circulate your blood, and so much more!

There could be something not quite function correctly, some pain, something off-balance in your body, but you still appreciate what is working in your body. In well-being, you are more solution-oriented rather than focused on the problem or what’s wrong with your body. Your focus is on appreciating the service your body is providing for you in this life. This perspective will have less resistance because you are focusing on appreciation which contains no resistance.

Seeking healing or seeking well-being have a variance in vibrational quality. And, that vibratioal variance may be holding you apart from experiencing your well-being fully.

So, what can you do to increase your well-being?

  • Begin looking for the things that are going right in your body.
  • Appreciate that you don’t have to micromanage a multitude of functions in your body.
  • Appreciate the service your body is providing you in this life.
  • Take your body for a walk in nature, if possible.
  • Provide good whole foods, plenty of fresh pure water, and whatever herbals and nutritional supplements that would support your body’s well-being.
  • Acknowledge and appreciate that well-being is your birthright. Well-being is our natural state. When we get our thinking towards appreciating our well-being, our body will respond in kind.
  • Stop complaining–not just about your body, but throughout all of life. If you are complaining about your aches, pains, or illness–you were complaining long before about other things. Complaining always brings about more things to complain about!
  • Daily, write lists of things you appreciate. Once you practice and hold the vibration of appreciation, your body will feel the shift and bring you more reasons to appreciate your body!
  • Focus on what you do want (well-being) and less about what you don’t want (sickly body).

Begin, today, to appreciate how well your body is serving you. Appreciate the moments you do feel good. Appreciate all the parts that are functioning well. Your body will love you for it!

Of course, as much as possible, buy organic products. If you are unable to secure quality foods, consider supplementing with Magnesium Complex.

If you are suffering with muscle spasms, take some magnesium. If you are feeling weak or fatigued, having headaches, nauseated. Coach Mary Ann’s Notes:  If your desire is to approach well-being holistically, I can’t stress enough how important it is for you to be out in nature. Not only does nature promote well-being of mind and mood, the sun on the skin and entering through your uncovered eyes for 2 hours every day will a great jump start to restoring your wellness. It is important to receive sunlight indirectly through your eyes–no glasses. You can wear a cap or hat that provides some shade, but for the most part you want to be exposed to the sun’s life-giving rays.

If at all possible, for at least 15-20 minutes of your trek outside, sit or walk around with your feet bare. Allow your body to have full contact with the energy of the earth. Wriggle your toes in the soil, moist grass, sand or sea water. This process is known as Earthing or Grounding. You will find tons of great information on it through an internet search.

The best way to restore your body’s balance for Vitamin D is by spending some time during your day out in nature, the cells of your body reap the benefit of a better mood vibration from you and it benefits from the life-giving sustenance of Mother Earth. When you begin to really start looking, even when it’s only little things, more things will start coming to mind and that feeling of appreciation will gain momentum until you find relief from feeling bad and start to feel really good!

Combination in a sauce pan:

Food Enzymes – Product Highlight

Many of us have grumbly tummies and intestines on occasion. Many of us have heartburn after we eat. Many of us produce excessive gas and feel bloated. All of these symptoms are telling us that our digestion needs a little assistance.

Let’s take a look at NSP Food Enzymes….

As always, I will look to our thought patterns for direction, so that we approach our health and wellness holistically. When we have a bodily symptom, our bodies have endured poor thoughts and feelings long enough that they finally have to tell us about it. It is a cry for help from our bodies. It is a declaration from our bodies for the need for us to restore balance in our emotions.

Look to your thoughts that cause you not to digest life properly. It could be gut-level fear. You could be dreading something. You could be anxious about some event coming up in life. You may believe you are not good enough. Life is just eating away at you!

Be honest about your thoughts to see if you are really assimilating the new changes in life or not. Maybe you fear new things, new people, new job, new lover. Look to see where your fears lay.

All of these thought patterns will diminish your digestive system. These dominant thoughts will create a vibration that your body will respond to and, also, become diminished.

Know that you are good enough. Know that all is well! Know that changes and new events are for your growth. There is no need to control every single circumstance or person in your life. Variety is good! Contrast is good because it helps you decide what you don’t want, which immediately lets you know what you do want.

Next, it may be time to incorporate some food enzymes to assist your body’s natural digestive processes while you are working on your emotional vibrations. As you focus on new thoughts of positive aspects, you will find relief in learning to assimilate all the new changes that come your way. Look upon change and newness as an adventure!

I run, not walk (ha!) to the cabinet and retrieve my Super Trio packet. Within a short time, I can actually feel the vitality and go-get-um return to my body!

The Tiao He Cleanse is the detox that saved my life back in 1993! After having suffered with stomach issues since childhood, migraines since high school, thyroid disease (nodules) in my early 20’s, miscarriages, Grave’s disease, gall-bladder disease, and hormonal issues–it was time to take my well-being into my own hands. Take the contents of 1 packet 15 minutes before meals up to two times daily (for 15 days) with 8 oz. water, followed by another 8 oz. water. This should produce two or three bowel movements daily. If stools become too loose, reduce the number of packets you use. Continue the program until you have used all 30 packets. Not recommended for children.

Coach Mary Ann’s Notes: Do yourself a favor–do your body a favor, and at least try this cleanse. I’ve watched my clients and customers receive so many benefits when beginning their wellness journey with this cleanse. Nature’s Sunshine Products makes many wonderful cleansing products, but I have to say this one is easy to use and does a wonderful job of cleansing the body.

Most importantly, it prepares your body to uptake the nutritional or herbal supplements you may choose to use for targeting specific health concerns. When you take this, or any cleanse, please remember to eat easy-to-digest meals. Try to use the 80-20% rule. Choose 80% of your diet as raw foods or gently cooked and only 20% of your food choices to be cooked. The goal is to allow the cleanse to work in your digestive system more easily. You are wanting your digestive system to have time to cleanse and not trying to digest heavy meals. Give your body a break for the 15 days you will be on the cleanse.

Remember to drink plenty of pure water. An excellent rule of thumb is to consume half your body weight in ounces per day. Example: If you weigh 150 pounds, you would consume 75 ounces of water each day. Of course, be mindful if you are exercising, live in warm climates, or work in the heat to increase your water intake substantially. Just remember this…if you get thirsty, you are already dehydrated!

Drinking plenty of pure water helps move the toxins out of your body and bring relief. Water is also a great conductor of electrical currents. Our bodies are constantly giving and receiving electrical impulses and messages from one part of our bodies to the next. Water is a great tool for our body to use and speeds up the message system.

Begin Your Wellness Journey with Detox: The Holistic Approach to Detox

When I began my wellness journey in 1993, it began with detoxing my body. Later, I realized that I also needed to detox more than just my body. That I was more than a physical being. That I was an eternal being that was toxic with negative patterns of thought. I realized I was causing my body’s suffering!

As my body healed, my mind started healing, too. Actually, I’m not sure which one came first. I think my thoughts had to begin shifting from allowing whatever the medical community threw at my dis-eased and ill body, to taking responsibility for my own health and well-being. I began by asking for help.

Asking for help was the turning point in my wellness.

I realized the medical community with all their pharmaceuticals and surgeries were just adding to my dis-ease (the imbalance and uneasiness in my body). Of course, I understand that there is a place for the medical community and the services they provide—so, no hate. They simply were attempting to mask the pain long enough for me to function—to survive. When the drugs didn’t work, I sustained surgery after surgery. But, I was not thriving!

I wanted to thrive!

Then, I had an episode where I actually didn’t know where I was, while driving, one day with my babies in the back seat and I knew it was time to get help and get away from the drugs. I knew I wouldn’t see 40 if I stayed on this path. I marched myself straight over to the local health food store the next day and told the owner to fix me. We talked a long time about all my troubles and she started me off with a detox—which has become my favorite since 1993! It has become my go-to cleanse each year. It was a Nature’s Sunshine Product; Tiao He Cleanse. Within 6 days I had my first evidence of relief!

Previously, my migraines came every 2-3 days. For years I didn’t make it more than 3 days without a total migraine blow-out! So, when I started the detox cleanse, I made it past day 3…then day 4…then day 5…then day 6…finally I developed a migraine. I almost made it a week without a migraine!!! This gave me the proof that what I was doing was spot on and kept going with the cleanse for the full 15 days.

After the first 6 days without a migraine, then it went to 2 weeks between the next migraine! I was in awe that what I was doing was giving me such relief that I had never, ever, known from the drugs I had been taking for so many years. I started having migraines in high school and this relief didn’t come until my mid-30’s.

I was sold! This was proof-positive that I was on the right track.

After the cleanse, my herbalist set me on a path to address my nutritional foundation and targeted areas of concern. Once I started getting the proper nutrition my body needed, in the form of vitamins, minerals, probiotics and such, I started with herbals for my hormones, digestion and anxiety.

Oh, by the way, she also helped me clear up my Irritable Bowel Syndrome with another herbal blend.

Was I good at eating well? It was and still is a process. I would love to say I only eat organically produced foods, but I have lived in the country for many years and my closest grocery store is 12 miles away. Our closest health food type grocery is 47 miles away, so it’s a bit of a challenge to keep my diet strictly organic. I do buy organic when it is available and frequent the local farmers market.

But, I also stay on my nutritional supplements and have a natural medicine cabinet.

Most of all, I’ve detoxed my mind. I’ve learned to focus more frequently on good-feeling thoughts rather than the negative thoughts. I understand that choosing to be happy and making that a priority has renewed my health more than anything I could have done through herbals and supplementation alone.

You see, our bodies respond quickly to the vibrations our feelings emit. Bare bones, our thoughts either feel good or they feel bad. You can easily monitor your thoughts and thought patterns by noticing how you feel throughout the day. You can also monitor your dominant thought patterns by taking inventory of your health condition and your life experiences.

Your body is giving you signals that you are spending way too much time in negative thought patterns, when you start experiencing symptoms of illness or dis-ease. Aches and pains are symptoms of dominant thoughts that make you feel bad. Your body is feeling the same way and is responding in kind.

I feel amazing most of the time and I’m 57 years old! I don’t have anywhere near the aches and pains and illness that I made my body suffer through when I lived in negatives-ville! There are so many times that I notice how good I actually feel. And, I am so grateful that I asked and was given the answers I sought.

You Can Heal Your Life: Book Review

This is one of my favorite books on metaphysics.  Metaphysics simply expresses how the mind/emotions affect the physical body.  Alternative healers have known this for a gazillion years, and finally the traditional medical community is beginning to acknowledging it, too.  Louise Hay’s writings are easily read and understood.  She includes many health issues and the probable thoughts/emotions that are causing it, then, adds the new thought pattern that could turn you back around to health!

Ms. Hay takes the reader through a session, much like you would experience in a private session with her or at one of her workshops.  The information posed in this book is taken from her previous work, Heal Your Body.  There are exercises in the book that you may use.  Utilizing these will begin to change your life.  She suggests even working through the book with a friend or family member.  Imagine the healing we could experience if this book was studied and applied in book clubs!

Included are affirmations that will assist you in making changes in your life.  She gives hope and encourages all that no matter how low you may be, you CAN start to change your life for the better.

I love the points on her philosophy.  There are a few that stand out to me…

“We are each responsible for all of our experiences.”

“Every thought we think is creating our future.”

“It’s only a thought, and a thought can be changed.”

“When we really love ourselves, everything in our life works.”

If we could simply grasp that last one, we all would live our lives with peacefulness and ease.

Let’s think about it…what do we give out?  Do we give out griping, complaining, ranting, unfriendly looks, ingratitude?  Do we give out happy smiles, complements, acts of kindness, love, gratitude?  What do we expect in return?

If, what she says in that first point above is true, then what are our experiences in life?

Do we live in the beautiful flow of life with good things appearing, or do we live feeling like we only get the raw end of the deal in our lives?

Ever wonder how you will be remembered by others upon your passing this life?

What legacy do you want to leave?

I’d challenge you to ask friends or family to honestly answer how they view your attitude in life as a whole.  Ask someone that lives with you, or spends a lot of time with you, what phrases do they hear you repeat?  This may just give you some real insight into who you are, today.

Want to change?  Change your thoughts.  Remember, Ms. Hay’s point on the above list is that these are just thoughts that can be changed.  There is hope!

What do you do and how do you treat someone you truly love, with all your heart, unconditionally?  I would challenge you to make out a list of those things that you would love to receive and DO them for yourself.  Show YOU that you are wonderful, loveable, infinite, deserving to receive every good thing life has to offer, FIRST!  THEN, and only then, give out by the same measure of love for others.

Learning to love and care for ourselves is the most important job we have to accomplish, because then, you actually have something to give out!  As the saying goes…you can’t give what you don’t have.

As you progress through these exercises, watch your mind/emotions change for the positive and how it will positively affect your physical body.  There is hope for healing our bodies through our minds.  If we believe we’re sick and diseased, we will be.  But, if we believe we are loving and healthy, we will be that, too!

Choose today, begin today!
